We, the taxpayers of Scituate, are writing to urge both town Select Boards, create a Maritime Commons to include all of Cohasset Harbor.  We further strongly suggest that a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) be created for the governance of the Commonwealth waters of Cohasset Harbor extending from the Cohasset Harbor Channel, Easterly to the Glades and bordered to the South by Bassing Beach and Briggs Harbor.  The purpose of the Maritime Commons would be to place all of those waters into conservation in perpetuity for the benefit of the public for recreational, educational and scientific pursuits.

We are adamantly against allowing any of those waters to be used for commercial aquaculture farms and will oppose in every possible way any effort to do so.
